Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to me. This policy explains what information I collect, how I use it, and what choices you have. It's written in plain language because that's how I do things.

1. Who I Am

Gel Plate Club and my classes are operated by me, Zenna James, based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. If you have any questions about this policy, you can reach me at zenna@zennajames.com.

2. Information I Collect

Information you give me directly:

  • Your name and email address when you join the waitlist or become a member

  • Payment information when you purchase a membership — I do not store your full payment details; these are handled securely by my payment processors Thrive Cart, PayPal or Stripe.

  • Any information you choose to share in the Circle community space, including posts, comments, and images

Information collected automatically:

  • Basic usage data such as pages visited and time spent on the site, collected through cookies and analytics tools (see Section 5)

  • Your email engagement activity (opens, clicks) through my email platform

Information from third-party platforms:

  • If you access Gel Plate Club through Circle or another integrated platform, I may receive basic profile information consistent with your settings on that platform

3. How I Use Your Information

I use your information to:

  • Deliver your membership — including access to content, live sessions, and the community space

  • Send you emails about your membership, new content, and community updates

  • Respond to your questions and support requests

  • Improve the Gel Plate Club experience over time

  • Honor founding member status and pricing

I do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.

4. How I Share Your Information

I do not sell your personal information. Ever.

I share information only with trusted service providers who help me operate Gel Plate Club, including:

  • Email platform [ConvertKit] — to send membership and marketing emails

  • Payment processor [Stripe, PayPal or ThriveCart] — to handle billing securely

  • Circle — to host the private community space

  • Website analytics [Squarespace Analytics, Google Analytics] — to understand how people use the site

Each of these providers has their own privacy policy and handles your data in accordance with applicable law.

I may also share information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our members or my business.

5. Cookies

My website uses cookies — small files stored on your device — to help the site function and to understand how it's being used. These include:

  • Essential cookies — necessary for the site to work

  • Analytics cookies — help me understand traffic and usage patterns

You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect site functionality.

6. Email Communications

When you join the waitlist or become a member, you'll receive emails from me. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time while still receiving essential membership communications.

I respect your inbox. I don't email for the sake of emailing.

7. The Circle Community

My private community is hosted on Circle, which operates under its own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Content you share in the community — posts, images, comments — is visible to other Gel Plate Club members. Please share accordingly.

8. Data Retention

I keep your personal information for as long as your membership is active and for a reasonable period afterward for legal and administrative purposes. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 10).

9. Data Security

I take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information I hold about you

  • Request correction of inaccurate information

  • Request deletion of your data

  • Withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time

  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format

11. Children's Privacy

Gel Plate Club is not directed at children under the age of 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided me with their information, please contact me at zenna@zennajames.com and I will promptly delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

I may update this policy from time to time. If I make significant changes, I'll notify you by email. The date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
